Last week saw the release of several new features and functions in iportinstant. These releases were made to all users free of charge under the service agreement.
The most significant change was to the way that worknotes are handled. Currently, worknotes are automatically tagged with a date and time plus the user ID thereby providing audit trail and also usage information. The worknotes themselves are free text. In this new release, the ability to add a Profile to a worknote has been added. This means that worknotes can now be expanded to allow sophisticated tracking of activities related to them and also to capture event dates (rather than system dates which is more flexible for staff who do not update the system daily). This profiling will allow even greater control and flexibility for sales, service and project managers to see how the system is being used and control and monitor quality of input whilst making it faster for users to find key pieces of information.
The second update is to the administration of Profiles. Currently when new classifications and data fields are entered they are displayed in order of their creation which can make some items appear out of logical sequence on input screens. An Admin function has now been added so that users can edit and sort the order of screen input to suit their needs.
